I was on my way to scenic Floyd, Virginia today-- my first road trip since having the engine rebuilt-- when I noticed some strange noises coming from the transmission. Rather than risk getting farther away, I decided it best I turn around, stay off the main roads and head towards home. But, as fate would have it, the trans-axle locked-up as I was coming through Eden, North Carolina.
One hundred and twenty dollars is what it took to get a wrecker home and now I get to search Greensboro Junkyards to find a transmission for my Toyota Corolla. I knew there was some reason I was going through the trouble of putting up this website.
